Sex
Either of the two main categories (male and female) into which humans and most other living things are divided on the basis of their reproductive functions.
Usage in sentence:
- The sex refers to biological differences between males and females.
- In some countries, the law allows people to marry a partner of the same sex while in other countries this is not allowed.
- The ‘biological sex’ may be used to refer to ‘sex’, and the ‘cultural and social sex’ may be used to refer to ‘gender’.
